MARKET NEWS
As autumn 2020 is now in full swing, it’s a good time to look back at how Portland’s housing market faired through the summer. While the shelter in place order of spring 2020 caused a bit of havoc on the market, it looks as though this summer hasn’t suffered too much. Here are a few insights:
August 2020 saw an increase in new listings, pending and closed sales than the previous year. The average and median house prices rose by 4.3% and 5.7% respectively, and while we indeed are suffering from another drop in inventory compared to June and July, new listings were still on the increase in the month of August compared to August 2019.
