The Keys to Enzo’s House
Some stories feel extra special to us, and this one is right at the top. Our wonderful buyers, Fernanda and Kelly, just got the keys to their very first home — a place they’re already calling “Enzo’s house.”
A Full-Circle Story
We’ve known Fernanda for about 20 years, long before house-hunting was on her radar. Her grandmother founded Amiguitos Preschool in Milwaukie, where our own son was once a student. Fernanda was a little older, but always nearby — helping out, surrounded by the bilingual learners who made the school such a special, nurturing place. Today, Fernanda carries that legacy forward as the director of Amiguitos, continuing the work her grandmother started.
A Dream Years in the Making
Fernanda and Kelly have dreamed of buying a home since 2020, but like so many young families, life brought unexpected hurdles along the way. They chose patience and perseverance. Living with family to save, focusing on their future, and building the foundation they needed to make this moment possible.
This summer, everything came together. With the support of their loved ones and their determination to create an independent family life, Fernanda and Kelly finally found the right home. Their little boy, Enzo, will grow up with a yard to play in and a space to call his own.
Finding The One
Our search with Fernanda and Kelly started in Milwaukie, where we toured a number of homes that fit their budget. They got a solid sense of what was out there — and even found one that could “work.” But as any buyer knows, sometimes a house that just works isn’t quite the same as a house that feels like home.
That same day, we added a last-minute stop to our tour. It was still within budget, though right at the top of their range. Up to that point, we’d seen quite a few split-levels built into the hillside — many with potential, but also with foundation, tree, and erosion concerns that added extra weight to the decision.
Then came the final house. This one sat proudly at the top of a hill on a flat lot, with a neat covered patio, fenced backyard, and a playful layout that stood apart from the rest. It was different. And most importantly, it was the one that Fernanda and Kelly could both agree on — not just as a fit, but as a place they could picture building memories in for years to come.
In their own words, it felt less like a starter home and more like the home. The one they could grow into, raise Enzo in, and proudly call their own.
The Power of Community & Family
What strikes us most is how much love has surrounded this young couple on their journey. Family stepped in to give them room to save. Friends and mentors encouraged them to keep going when the market felt tough. And now, all that support has led to this new chapter: a front door with their name on it.
We couldn’t be happier for them.
Congratulations, Fernanda, Kelly, and Enzo — here’s to your new home, your new memories, and the bright future ahead.
