Washington Roots, Portland Return
When we first met Arturo he was accompanying his daughter as she looked for her own home. Fast forward a few years and he was ready for his own change. Beaverton had been home for a long time, but the pull of open skies and farmland led him to his old stomping grounds in Yakima County. He found a little project house in Toppenish, right by an irrigation canal and tucked alongside grape orchards. It needed a lot of love, but it came with wide views of pasture and vines—enough to help him envision what this property’s potential.
After a couple of years, though, the call of family and a more consistent lifestyle grew stronger. Arturo wanted to be closer to his children and return to the career and rhythm of life he’d left behind. With their support, he began the move back to the Portland metro, and that’s where we stepped in.
Francisco, with his Washington license, handled the sale of the Toppenish home. Together, we drove out to see the property, added some staging touches, and made sure the photography captured its best side. The drone shots really allowed buyers to see what a unique setting this home was. All of his hard work paid off: two buyers stepped forward, eager to make it theirs. Once we were through inspections, it was time to focus on Arturo’s next chapter.
With his daughter Carina by his side, we toured about 15 condos in the Beaverton and Hillsboro area. He narrowed it down to three that fit the bill, but one home stood out above the rest. It was single-level with easy parking and wide windows looking out at trees and green space. It felt just right.
When keys were in hand, his other daughter Areli was able to make the trip with her dad to see his new nest. the welcoming committee showed up in the form of a bold little calico cat who strolled right into the condo, making herself part of the celebration. Arturo had found not just a place to live, but a place that already felt like home.
