Putting Down Roots & Building a Community in Portland’s FoPo Neighborhood
We’re beyond thrilled to share the heartwarming journey of Jeffrey, Jordan, and Jack as they finally settle into their first home together. Over the course of their relationship, they counted moving nearly 25 times, always searching for the perfect place to call home. After some serious consideration and soul-searching, they decided to return to Portland, a city they had loved years before. This time, they brought along a most precious relative—Grandma Gail.
Returning to Portland wasn’t just about the city’s charm and familiarity; it was about putting down roots and building a stable, loving environment for their family. After so many moves, they were ready to find a place where they could truly belong.
We had the honor of helping them find a wonderfully preserved and modernized 1916 Craftsman bungalow in the vibrant FoPo neighborhood. From the moment they walked through the door, they knew this was the home for them. The character and history of the bungalow, combined with its modern updates, made it the perfect blend of old and new.
The FoPo neighborhood, with its welcoming community and friendly atmosphere, is the ideal place for Jeffrey, Jordan, and Jack to build a network of neighbors and friends. It’s a place where they can create lasting memories and truly feel at home. We couldn’t be more thrilled for them as they embark on this new chapter.
Here’s a fun story: When we returned to the house after the home closed and recorded to give them the keys, the old owners, Lisa and Jan, came by to say hello and do a walkthrough, sharing all the knowledge they felt should be passed on. Lisa and Jan had owned the home for 40 years and were finally ready to part with it. This kind of meeting between buyers and sellers is pretty rare, and it made for a special connection for everyone involved. The last picture shows the old and new owners together, capturing this unique and heartwarming moment.
