The culinary delights of Division street permeate this neighborhood with a coveted space in any food lover’s heart.

This neighborhood is also sometimes called the Division-Clinton neighborhood due its commercial corridor on those two streets and is considered a neighborhood within a neighborhood.

Frequently Instagrammed, you’ll find that Division Street has transformed over the last decade to house a number of hip shops, wine bars, and favorite Portland eateries. Continue up Division to the Richmond neighborhood when you get to 29th and the feast continues. Home to the Clinton Street Theater famed for showing the Rocky Horror Picture Show every Saturday night since 1978.

Bordering the Willamette you have easy access to downtown via the Ross-Island Bridge (cars only) or the Hawthorne Bridge (cars, bikes, or by foot), or Portland’s newest bridge Tilikum Crossing (Bridge of the People. Residents also have two light rail stops on the new Orange line that makes mass transport a breeze or hop on to the Eastbank Esplanade path and tootle around the city on this lovely path right next to the river.

FUN FACT

Discover the maze-like borough of streets called Ladd’s Addition, laid out in an X-shaped street pattern built around five rose gardens. This a fun pocket to get lost in and get a peek at Portland’s earliest development plans for housing. It is Portland's oldest planned residential development, and one of the oldest in the western United States.
